what is the daily life of youth in europe? what are their dreams? what are their values?
The background of the project is Barnas Fredsverden (BFV)’s wish to add a European dimension to the International Peace Seminar Youth & Action 2014 and the 200th constitutional celebrations in Moss, Norway. The project has its base in BFV’s implementation of two peace seminars in 2012 and 2013 and a goal to further evolve and improve the seminar. (You can read more about the seminar HERE).
BFV is strongly engaged in the situation of children and youth and aims to have young Europeans’ everyday lives, goals and dreams heard. This year’s peace seminar is one of the main attractions in the municipality’s constitutional celebration, which gives this specific project extra strength also in the local community – we want to spread the youth’s opinions and thoughts as far as possible. This we will do by focusing on the personal stories and by using digital solutions. With an eye on the individual and the decision makers of the future, BFV aims to give space and opportunity for reflection and discussion. If we can make people stop for a minute, we have succeeded…

The project New faces of Europe aims to capture bits of life of youth between 13 and 18 years, giving a glimpse of their daily habits, happy thoughts or other moments in their life. The survey - simple questions (in English only) can be filled online in less than 5 min. The responses will be collected and gathered/used for an exhibition which will be opened in Moss on 14th August 2014 at 12.30 during the street party (GÃ¥gata Moss).
Together with the survey, the youth are able to send a picture of themselves (selfie) showing us themselves and a word which they would like to share with the others.
You can read the rules of the competition here.
The photographs are to be sent through our FB page
By sending their selfie, the youth are automatically entering a competition which prize is a brand new digital camera!
