FREDSBARNA

Fredsbarna is a pilot-project (will be launched in 2014) working on peace and conflict prevention/resolution activities in 3 kindergarten of the region of Østfold. Through a series of workshops, playshops and other specially designed events, Fredsbarna wants to propose and prove that a well-developed and early conflict hygiene programme is possible and can serve as a contribution to the development of a culture of peace inside a society.

The escalation of aggression and conflicts -even at very early stages of life- is raising the question of the kind of education we are giving to our children, the environment we create for them and if we are using the best tools to make effective changes in human behavior and attitudes at all levels.

Barnas Fredsverden proposes different programmes for children and youth giving them the unique opportunity to get engaged in the work of peace in a creative and playful way. BFV´s main focus is to inspire children and youth to find new ways to think about and handle conflicts so as to produce positive change.
